About Ummrise

An independent, research-based guide for UAE residents planning Umrah.

What this is

Ummrise is written by one person who lives in the UAE and found planning Umrah confusing: rules spread across news stories, platform blogs and ministry announcements, some of them out of date. The guides pull that together in one order, and say where each fact comes from.

It is built from research, not from personal pilgrimage experience, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. That is why the focus is paperwork and logistics, where the sources can be checked, and not the experience of the journey.

How facts are checked

Each guide opens with a short list of facts, and each fact carries a label:

  • Official Published by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
  • Reported Reported by news outlets or travel platforms, usually citing the ministry or UAE authorities. Check it on Nusuk.
  • Estimate A range or expectation, such as Ramadan dates or package prices. Not a quote.
  • Sources disagree Sources contradict each other. We say so rather than choosing one.

The last check of facts was on 6 October 2026. Every source is listed on the sources page.

What this site is not

  • Not a travel agent. We don't sell packages, visas or flights, and we take no commission.
  • Not affiliated with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Nusuk or any UAE authority.
  • Not religious guidance. For questions about how to perform Umrah, or what is permitted, ask a qualified scholar.
  • Not legal advice. Visa and entry rules are set by Saudi Arabia and change. Confirm everything on nusuk.sa before you book or pay.

What we haven't covered

Flight options, specific hotels and what to expect inside the Haram haven't been researched or verified, so the site doesn't make claims about them.
